Nikola Tesla, the Serbian-American inventor, pioneered the alternating-current electrical system, the induction motor, and visionary experiments in wireless power and radio that ran decades ahead of his age. A prodigy who claimed to see his inventions whole in his mind, he filled notebooks with futures the world was not ready to build, and died in obscurity amid towers of unfinished genius.
