Zhuge Liang, styled Kongming, was the brilliant chancellor and strategist of the state of Shu Han during China's Three Kingdoms period. Sought out three times by Liu Bei before he would serve, he engineered the alliance that won the decisive battle of Red Cliffs and is remembered for ingenious stratagems and devices. Famed for wisdom and loyalty, he died on campaign and became the archetype of the perfect adviser.
