Nüwa

Mender of the Broken Sky

Nüwa is the mother-goddess of Chinese mythology, often depicted with a serpent's lower body, who fashioned the first humans from yellow clay. When the pillars holding up the sky were broken and the heavens cracked, loosing fire and flood upon the world, she smelted stones of five colors to mend the sky and cut the legs from a great turtle to prop up its four corners, restoring order to creation.
