An ifrit is a powerful class of jinn in Arabian and Islamic lore, beings created from smokeless fire, vast in strength and fierce in pride. Dwelling in ruins and the deep places of the earth, ifrits were known as cunning and dangerous spirits who might serve or scorch, bound only by mightier magic, and appear in tales such as those of the Thousand and One Nights.
