Two Swords, No Era
Miyamoto Musashi, Japan's legendary swordsman, fought more than sixty duels without a loss and pioneered the two-sword Niten Ichi-ryu style. Famed for slaying the master Sasaki Kojiro with a wooden oar, he spent his final years as a hermit, painting and writing The Book of Five Rings, a treatise on strategy and the way of the sword that endures as a martial classic.
