Olorun, the Owner of the Sky, is the supreme creator god of the Yoruba people, ruler over all orisha and the source of ashe, the divine power that animates existence. Distant and all-seeing, he set the lesser deity Obatala to mold the earth and shape humankind from clay. Beyond shrine or image, he is invoked as the final authority over destiny, life, and the breath of every living thing.
