Shango

King of the Thunderstone

Shango is the Yoruba orisha of thunder, lightning, fire, and royal justice, remembered as a mighty early king of Oyo. Wielding a double-headed axe, he hurls thunderstones to earth and dances within the storm, his voice booming through the heavens. Fierce and passionate, he punishes liars and thieves with lightning, and his devotees honor him with drums, red and white cloth, and ecstatic dance.
