Weaver of Borrowed Tales

Anansi the spider is the trickster of Akan folklore, a cunning weaver of schemes who carries the wisdom and stories of the world. In the most famous tale, he bargained with the sky-god Nyame, capturing a python, hornets, and a leopard to win ownership of all stories, which thereafter bore his name. Small and clever, he triumphs over the strong through wit, mischief, and silver-tongued guile.
