Edge of the Agojie
Seh-Dong-Hong-Beh was a commander of the Agojie, the all-female warrior corps of the West African kingdom of Dahomey. In the 1850s she led thousands of these soldiers in a fierce assault against the Egba fortress of Abeokuta, scaling its walls under withering fire. Renowned for ferocity and discipline, the Agojie she led were sworn fighters, feared across the region as the king's most elite troops.
