Hades

Lord of the Unseen Realm

Hades is the Greek god of the underworld and lord of the dead. When the three sons of Cronus drew lots to divide the cosmos after overthrowing the Titans, the realm beneath the earth fell to him, while Zeus took the sky and Poseidon the sea. Stern and inexorable rather than evil, he ruled the shades with cold justice, possessed a helm that rendered its wearer invisible, and carried off Persephone to be his queen, binding her to him with the seeds of the pomegranate.
