Phantom Queen of Battle
The Morrigan is the Irish goddess of war, fate, and death, a shapeshifting figure often appearing as three sisters and famed for taking the form of a crow or raven over the battlefield. She foretold the outcome of wars and could decide the fate of warriors, weaving terror or victory into the slaughter. In the Ulster Cycle she both aided and opposed the hero Cu Chulainn, and her arrival upon the carnage as a carrion bird marked the doom of those about to fall.
