The Many-Skilled Spear

Lugh is a heroic god of Irish mythology, master of every art and craft, admitted to the court of the Tuatha De Danann because there was no single skill he had not mastered. Wielding a spear that never missed its mark, he led the gods against the monstrous Fomorians at the second battle of Mag Tuired, where he slew his own grandfather Balor of the baleful eye by driving a sling-stone through it. The harvest festival of Lughnasadh was held in his honor.
