Hunter of the Love Spot

Diarmuid Ua Duibhne was the handsomest and most skilled warrior of the Fianna, the war-band of Fionn mac Cumhaill. He bore a love-spot upon his brow placed there by an enchantment, so that no woman who looked upon it could help but love him; this drew the betrothed Grainne to elope with him, sparking a long pursuit. He met his death hunting the great boar of Ben Bulben, gored after a curse from his youth came due, while the jealous Fionn let the healing water slip from his hands.
