She Who Shapes the Land

Pele, the Hawaiian goddess of volcanoes and fire, is the passionate and tempestuous creator of the islands, raising new land from the sea with rivers of molten rock even as her fury consumes the old. Said to dwell in the crater of Kilauea, she is at once destroyer and maker, her eruptions forming the very ground of the Hawaiian archipelago.
