The Allfather

Odin, the Allfather of Norse myth, sacrificed an eye at Mimir's well and hung nine nights upon the world-tree Yggdrasil, pierced by his own spear, to win the wisdom of the runes. God of war, poetry, magic, and the dead, he ranged the nine worlds as a wandering seeker, gathering knowledge and chosen slain to his hall Valhalla against the doom of Ragnarok.
