The Falcon-Headed

Horus, the falcon-headed sky god of ancient Egypt, was the son of Osiris and Isis and the divine embodiment of kingship. To avenge his murdered father, he waged a long struggle against his usurping uncle Set, in the course of which he lost an eye that was magically restored to become the protective Eye of Horus. Victorious, he claimed the throne of Egypt, and every living pharaoh was regarded as his earthly incarnation.
