Circe

Weaver of Beasts

Circe, the enchantress of Greek myth and daughter of the sun god Helios, dwelt on the island of Aeaea, where she was mistress of potions, herbs, and transformation. In Homer's Odyssey she turned Odysseus's crew into swine with a drugged cup, but, overcome by the hero with the protective herb moly, she restored them and became his ally and lover for a year, advising him on the perilous road home past the Sirens and the underworld.
